We all know these generative-AI creators don’t care about the copyright of anyone else’s IP, just making money off of their own new creation. They walked all over content creators in every realm. Their products stand on the backs of billions of IP that they did not pay for. It is a bold (but not unexpected) move for a company like Microsoft to take this position. But as the Dutch proverb goes, “When apes climb high they show their naked rumps.” Like Meta’s bet on 3D Half-Life (what’s it called again?), the hubris of these giant corporations may be their eventual downfall. How very Hegelian Dialect of it all.
