In a win that everyone could see coming, Pokemon won a lawsuit against a set of Chinese gaming companies that straight up maybe a Pokemon mobile game but called it “Pocket Monster Reissue”. It goes to show, stealing IP and then slapping a different name on it doesn’t create Fair Use. It does get you an estimated $42 million a year revenue and only a $15 million lawsuit loss … so in this case crime does kind of pay.
