Luke Combs Supports His Fans

Luke Combs does the right thing, after his legal team did not.

This is an interesting case which parallels what can happen with high profile individuals — they have legal teams that are designed to protect them that, unbeknownst to the individual, take legal actions that tarnish their name rather than help it. Here is one such case where performer Luke Combs found out his legal team sued a fan for copyright infringement when he would’ve 100% been cool with them using his image.

Copyright claims help protect a brand’s image, but at the same time, some technically infringing material can be beneficial to both the fan and the brand. One example of the opposite of this is Disney and cosplay — Disney goes after cosplay performers who want to wear Disney branded characters. That is why you see a lack of Disney characters at ComicCons. A missed opportunity for showing love for a brand. Our guess is that Disney worries someone will do a twist on a character that shows them in bad light, and that it would go viral.
