ISPs Should Terminate Piracy Users

ISPs SHOULD terminate users who participate in online piracy, if they are informed ... that's what the courts say.

ISP Grande was hit with a verdict that (hopefully) will be enforced and lead to changes in how ISPs (Internet Service Providers) deal with being informed about piracy among its users. They should be kicked off.

It seems obvious — a blatant violation of Terms of Service — but we all know corporations would rather ignore rules and the law if it means they make more money. And there is no money in kicking off paying users. But there could be court decided fines. And corporations will weigh the possibility of loss of money versus the amount they would gain.

This case was sent back to reassess damages, but on the off chance they are significant, maybe this will push the balance just slightly in the direction of creators having more protections.
