AI As the Court Expert!

“The sound of science: AI can ID musical copyright infringement better than human ears, WVU law experts say”

Some things may be helped by AI. I mean, most of it pulls from Wikipedia and Reddit so who knows if it is accurate, but using AI to analyze song similarities, trained by experts in song similarities sounds like a useful way to help protect copyrights.

With music there is a fine line between “You stole my song!” and “These are common chords, come on, man!” Being able to lean on data-driven analyses rather than solely expert human testimony seems, to me at least (you know, until the robots take over and prove me wrong), like a solid addition to coming to a sound decision in music copyright cases.
