For some reason the UK government has decided to one-up idiots like <insert name of current US president … is it Elon Musk or Donald Trump, hard to tell these days … here> by proposing a plan to allow AI training to be done on copyrighted works with no repercussions. So essentially the UK government wants to make copyright a worthless thing because … they don’t want to deal with the hassle of AI companies having to respect and follow the law?

Obviously, all those whose works are being stolen without permission or compensation are against this. So what is the UK government’s motivation? Our guess is that AI companies and investors are lobbying the heck out of it and politicians be politicians and just corrupt as hell and will take the money. I wonder how we fix the broken system that seems to be every government everywhere these days.

PS AI generated art “Broken Governments” brought to you by “still can’t follow physics and weight-bearing”, “Nope, not real letters”, and “structurally unstable but still standing”.
